Harleston Village is home to the College of Charleston which is the 13th oldest institution of higher education in the United States. The campus is adorned with massive live oak trees, brick pathways, and gorgeous historic buildings. this small but well-known institution is located just off of King and Calhoun streets. The Cistern Yard is not just the center of campus and a great spot for a picnic, but it becomes an outdoor venue for jazz artists during the Spoleto Festival which is typically held late May to early June.

EAT
Harleston Village locals will tell you that there is no shortage of great places to shop and eat. True favorites in this pedestrian-friendy neighborhood include Caviar and Bananas, a gourmet grocery and artisan cafe, and Circa 1886 which is one of Charleston's best known high-end restaurants, housed in the famed Wentworth Mansion.
